Ralph McQuarrie, the conceptual artist behind "Star Wars," has passed away at 82.

"I am deeply saddened by the passing of such a visionary artist and such a humble man," George Lucas, McQuarrie's co-visualizer behind the trilogy, wrote in a statement on starwars.com. "Ralph McQuarrie was the first person who helped me envision 'Star Wars'... When words could not convey my ideas, I could always point to one of Ralph's fabulous illustrations and say, 'Do it like this.'"

"The Lorax," which was published in 1971, is Seuss' environmental fable that inspires kids to think about nature (the lovely Truffula trees) versus material goods (those trendy but unnecessary Thneeds), and the movie does a good job of translating that theme into a charming animated movie kids will love. BUT then the studio's marketing geniuses have to muck up the story's message by making the Lorax shill everything from SUVs to IHOP specials.

'Zero Dark Thirty': Kathryn Bigelow's Osama Bin Laden Movie Facing Protests In India

U.S. government officials aren't the only ones giving Kathryn Bigelow fits over her upcoming Osama bin Laden film. According to Reuters, the director, who's currently in India shooting the feature, is facing backlash from local Hindus over making the set area appear Pakistani.

The film, "Zero Dark Thirty," which follows the capture of the world's most wanted terrorist, was originally going to shoot in Pakistan, where bin Laden was captured. However, after being denied access by the government, Bigelow moved production to the Indian town of Chandigarh. There, the crew has designed the area to look like the Paskistan town of Lahore, including with extras dressed in Pakistani garb. Read more

Joe: The Rise of Cobra," failed to resemble anything that would remind one of, you know, G.I. Joe. In our discussion, di Bonaventura explains why that happened, further confirms that the Cobra Commander that we see in "Retaliation" is not the one that we saw in "Rise of Cobra," and hints at a possible return of Destro.

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina — Angelina Jolie said Wednesday working as a director has rekindled her love for the film industry, even if it was something of a personal artistic rebellion.

Jolie told The Associated Press in Sarajevo that she was starting to feel "disheartened" and uninspired by her acting roles.

She knew she wanted to use film as a medium to deal with weighty matters, such as human rights abuses.

"We must remember to use this medium in a responsible way when we can," she said.

Jolie had several roles in action movies, like the one in Mr. and Mrs. Smith but with her new film, she felt she was making a difference. Read more
