Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' Producer, Confirms The Cobra Commander In New Sequel Is 'Different Guy'

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Picking up yesterday where we left off with Jon Chu at the American International Toy Fair, we now set our sights on Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the producer of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," as well as the first film and the "Transformers" series. I'm a bit of a skeptic after the first film, the financially successful "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," failed to resemble anything that would remind one of, you know, G.I. Joe. In our discussion, di Bonaventura explains why that happened, further confirms that the Cobra Commander that we see in "Retaliation" is not the one that we saw in "Rise of Cobra," and hints at a possible return of Destro.

When I was in 2nd grade, my parents bought me Grunt and Flash so I'd stop playing with "Star Wars" toys.
Grunt's in this movie. It's a small part, but, yeah. Read more

'After Earth': Jaden Smith's Armored Body Suit From New M. Night Shyamalan

Jaden Smith

Last week, Will Smith posted photos from the set of the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan movie, "After Earth." Although the picture showed the "Men in Black" star as a much older, grayer version of his present self, there was nothing in it that hinted at the film's futuristic setting.

However, Will's son and co-star Jaden has just posted a set photo that gives audiences a better idea of what to expect. In the picture, the full version of which you can see below, the younger Smith is shown wearing some type of armored body suit, as he looks off into the distance. Read more

Angelina Jolie Inspired By Directing Her First Film; Felt 'Disheartened' With Acting

Angelina Jolie

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina — Angelina Jolie said Wednesday working as a director has rekindled her love for the film industry, even if it was something of a personal artistic rebellion.

Jolie told The Associated Press in Sarajevo that she was starting to feel "disheartened" and uninspired by her acting roles.

She knew she wanted to use film as a medium to deal with weighty matters, such as human rights abuses.

"We must remember to use this medium in a responsible way when we can," she said.

Jolie had several roles in action movies, like the one in Mr. and Mrs. Smith but with her new film, she felt she was making a difference. Read more

Idris Elba, 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengence' Star, On 'Prometheus' Secrets And Why He Doesn't Want To Talk About 'Ab Fab'

Idris Elba

Lesson learned: Do not bring up Idris Elba's early role as "gigolo" on "Absolutely Fabulous" when interviewing Idris Elba. Yes, the star of "The Wire," "Luther," the upcoming "Prometheus," and this weekend's "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" will give you a look that can only be translated as, "Good lord, what is wrong with you?"

In the rebooted "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance," Elba plays Moreau, a free spirited, alcoholic friend of Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) -- the man who has been cursed as the Ghost Rider. Moviefone spoke to Elba about the new film, "The Wire," a big secret about the upcoming "Prometheus," and Elba's vastly underrated role as Charles Minor on "The Office." Also, unfortunately, "Ab Fab." Read more

George Clooney On Contemplating Suicide And Being Held At Gunpoint

George Clooney

You'd assume the planet's most recognizable movie star leads a cushy lifestyle. For George Clooney, however, that hasn't always been the case. In this week's Hollywood Reporter, the actor talks candidly about loneliness, anxiety, and wrestling with pain after filming "Syriana" in 2005. (Clooney suffered a back injury while shooting a torture scene.)
